The Youth Finance Inclusion Scheme (YoFIS) is intended to provide opportunities to vulnerable youth to start or improve small businesses with the aim of creating jobs in the public and private sectors. Through a competitive process, it will involve the interested youth to apply for the support needed.
The applications will be evaluated using established criteria. The youth will have to demonstrate the viability of the businesses before the financing support is provided. Uwezo will work jointly with relevant funding agencies and commercial institutions to support the youth initiatives.
– The applicant must be a youth (18-30)
– The youth should check the feasibility of their business idea and determine if it is viable before proceeding to apply. The idea should have the potential of expansion and providing employment to others.
– The business can be a new business or an ongoing business
– The student applicant will be required to open a small business account with Uwezo Microfinance.
